My first post here in TE :)

Please read the first General Guideline!

General Guidelines

* Do not post material that is obscene, abusive, or that otherwise violates any of the guidelines mentioned herein.

1. Flaming - Flaming will not be tolerated. While we are committed to freedom of expression, a deliberate attempt to malign or to hurt the feelings of a member or a specific community will not be tolerated. Please use the report post function to report any offensive post to the Moderators or to the Administrators. Alternately, a private message can also be sent to the Moderator of the respective section. Please show respect for yourself and other members of TechEnclave.com. Please refrain from using derogatory remarks and language in the forums. A lot of foul words are automatically masked by the forum software; however some may still have escaped our notice. If any words are missed, please contact a Moderator or Administrator at the earliest.

Please read this before proceeding further

Our renowned overloaded member said the following,

Stick should win a nobel prize in English literature lol. No seriously

This is just an example, you'll find many other instances regarding stick being mocked. Stick, he himself did call ppl names and even that goes against the

rules. Are the moderators looking into this?

Thread titles like 'looking for...' 'wtf', 'please read' or 'what's your opinion' are not allowed.

Questions:

Are these practices going to help TE in anyway?

Are the moderators aware of some members treating others with disdain and calling others names?

Does every member read the forum rules properly?

If these rules are not followed, i would request the mods/admins to modify the rules section to allow such practices.

BTW,

This site is too good and i am feeling great to be part of this :)

Mods and Admins :hap2:

regarding point 1 , i agree that there were some immature posts . it was already brought to our notice and we will have to clamp down on it

regarding point 2 , we require proper thread titles so that they get indexed properly by google and other search bots which help the site get better hits

am sure one of the admins could explain that better

we're glad you took the time for the feedback.

somehow , dumbtalk doesnt seem to be a stranger to these here forums. bet its someone in TE posting AC :P

Good to see that Mr. "Dumbtalk" did the honours as even I wanted to take up this issue..esp Point#1..

Its distressing to see senior members use such language esp. in a heated situation..

Last time I checked "Hindi" was still our national language & English still a foreign language, so if an individual is not as competent in the use of a "foreign" language, DOES NOT mean anyone has the right to make fun of him..

I love TE and it pains me to see such atrocious remarks by our most valued members..

what makes you think so ? thats stick himself . not a noob
Re-read my friend..
I believe what superczar meant was "The individual concerned (Dumbtalk) is NOT a TE noob"

I personally don't think its Stick..The writing style's way different..

I'm sorry Mods & others..I don't wish to start a speculation debate as to who "Dumbtalk" is, so I'll refrain from posting in this thread, unless some direct comment/question is put forth to me..

@Amd , you made a good statement regarding our national language, if somebody doesnt have command on a FOREIGN language it doesnt matter.

and until you can make a sense out of it , it should work well. :)

Quoting the same rule you picked up:

1. Flaming - Flaming will not be tolerated. While we are committed to freedom of expression, a deliberate attempt to malign or to hurt the feelings of a member or a specific community will not be tolerated. Since you seem quite familiar with the ins and outs of the forum, I dont think I have to show you where the Report Post button is right? ;)

Anyway, please use the Report post button whenever you feel something has to be corrected and we will look into it ASAP.

The Mods are here to maintain order over the forums, however we try our best to maintain a decent balance between freedom of expression and clamping down on posts. Moderating each and every post would be akin to Moral policing and we would not like to do that - however if things go too far or someone reports the post, we will definitely step in :)

P.s. : If you will read the rules further, you will also find that we do not entertain any complaints about deals gone bad (if we're specifically considering the Market deal you linked to). However in this case we still made an exception and let them sort it out here. As such we gave them their space, let them say what they wanted to - and once they seemed to have reached an agreement, we closed it before it ran into a flame fest. I think that was the best we could do on our part :)

Definitely....the way TE handled it was really neat.

I dont think some other forums would have allowed this.

Keep up the good work fellas !! :D :D

Hmmm, quite a response.
I forgot to add, my first post in TE as DUMBTALK! :ohyeah:
greenhorn and superczar got it right :)

Eddy, I very well could have reported. But i felt we needed some kinda awareness about the rules we have in TE.

Nikhil, I agree with yo man!
But still, there are some blokes who need to be taught some basic manners of how to post in a public forum without hurting others. Harping about one's english and his proficiency is totally unnecessary.

@broar94 , Rahul
I am not stick! Leave that poor soul alone!

One the Whole, all the members are really sweet :)
Keep up the good work fellas!

TE is our family and it is our duty to maintain harmony
