Try to put it in an externally powered enclosure to see if it is detected.If not provided you feel confident go for pcb replacement,it's not easy i tell you. Depending on the value of data inside you might need professional services, but if you give it to people who doesn't know to change the head in a dust free environment, it will be useless as well.
