Is ryzen 5 5600G compatible with Msi B450M Pro vdh max ...I'm planning to get a gpu afterwards hopefully when they are affordable
 
It's quite probable that you will need a BIOS update to run Ryzen 5000 on B450 boards. It's compatible, but not out of the box. Some retailers may update the BIOS on request, or you could do it yourself if you have a supported CPU lying around.

Try getting mobo from MDcomputer or primeabgb they'll update the BIOS for you.

I think I have the same mobo. Looking for a similar upgrade from 3400G to 5600G. I did however update my BIOS recently for W11.
