Reviews for Zen 5-based Ryzen AI 9 chips are out and they look super impressive! There are so many wins , especially for thin and lights/ultrabooks, compared to Zen4 (especially power, temps and battery life) and Intel Ultra, but the most surprising thing to me was these chips' iGPU beating Intel Quicksync thanks to the RDNA 2.5 based decoders. Exciting times for the laptop space ahead (apart from the terrible naming convention that everyone except Apple has)!

That's a massive +1. iGPUs are getting to a point where the entry level dGPUs are swiftly losing their relevance.

Unless I am wrong in assuming this, AMD stuff tends to be on the pricier side in India compared to their Intel counterparts.

I think it's otherwise. But this time it seems AMD has done something good in laptop/portable pc space. Been looking for a laptop upgrade. If everything turns out good will get one this year end

Just confirmed this. The difference is massive. I have been out of the loop for quite a while now I guess. I am curious what purpose Intel's efficient cores serve on desktop. Do they serve any purpose or are there just to get the overall core numbers past AMD?

This has never been the case. AMD laptops have always been priced way lower than their equivalent Intel counterparts, although they sometimes come with weird limitations on stuff like display panel and RAM size being limited to specific SKUs. They have been the performance and value choice since Ryzen 4000 mobile series.
