My friend has a Philips DVD player (Model no 3166) and he wants to purchase my Creative T6060.

The default connectors are not compatible.

The connectors on the dvd player look somewhat like this except that there are many ports

The T6060 has three cables with standard jacks to connect to PC.

Is there some add on connector that can be used?

What if I connect the individual speakers to the DVD player directly ... that is I bypass connecting to the woofer.

And then connect the woofer too.

Is it possible ? Will it cause any problems to the speakers ?
 
I don't see any audio outs on that dvd player other than a left and right channel. You'll only get stereo output. So essentially if you want 5.1 out of it, you need to purchase an external decoder. An easier option though is to upgrade to the Philips 5150 player which has discrete 5.1 output.
