Clone basically is Fake. A copy phone that is made to look exactly like original but with inferior quality parts (compared to original), Modified OS to appear and function like the original, most of the times specs are misleading/wrong (OP has already mentioned it) and even OS level changes are done to give these fake specs a real touch (About phone gives many wrong information).
Many a times, the storage may say 8GB but really it may be 2 GB or less.
Many such things. You can see aliexpress and all for such fakes.

I can vouch that given in hand one cannot tell the difference from real and clone in any way. its extremely difficult to spot the differences.

Yup , I second this.My friend bought one of these from thailand.It even had a samsung logo on the front and back and even used a samsung battery too. Even a samsung executive could not find this out until he asked someone to check some codes by connecting to his pc.I have no idea of the codes or software he ran to find that it was a clone.
