CPU/Mobo safest voltage for i7 920 D0 stepping? on AIR

hey guys as the topic says whats the safest possible volts that u can give to ur i7 for OCing?

i have heard 1.35 is normal and 1.50 is max(but for water cooling)

this voltage i ask is for air cooling with TRUE
 
You can go up to 1.5 real, but unless you got a miracle chip the temps are gonna be 80+ at about 1.4 already. Not like it takes anymore than that to reach 4.0ghz on your board anyway.
 
Max Safe Voltage on Air (Gigabyte Layout) :

CPU Vcore - 1.41250v

QPI/Vtt Voltage - 1.355v (max 1600MHz RAM)

CPU PLL - 1.88v

PCIE - 1.500v

QPI PLL - 1.350v

IOH Core - 1.350v

ICH I/O - 1.600v

ICH Core - 1.200v (If less HDD's) & 1.300v (If Many HDD)

DRAM Voltage - 1.660v

Rest not needed
 
OP:

Would suggest you to check the productivity gains moving beyond 3.6 Ghz and greater. It just might be, you are not gaining much at the golden 4.0 Ghz, so why run it at that high speed, for extreme vCore. Just a thought.
