Yesterday I purchased samsung 2233SW/ The problem I am having is the letters look washed out at 1680 by 1050 resolution. It is looking pretty awfull at that resolution. The other lower resolutions are fine. Mostly I want to use in this resolution only.Is there any sollution to this or I must be using the Native resolution of 1920 by 1080. I am using Win Xp sp2.

Thanks in Advance.

^^ Yes I understand..But the letters are getting washed out only in that resolution

i'm not sure abt this , but should playing around with the refresh rate @ that resolution help ?  :ashamed: :ashamed:

I have always felt blurry text with obviousness when using VGA with my monitors.I think it(VGA) shud be fine for and until 1280x1024, but anything above should be crisper with DVI.

Mostly VGA is the issue..anyways keep it in native resolution and increase the DPI .........
Also have u enabled the clear type ?????????

Why are you running 2233WS @ 1680X1050 when its native res is 1920 by 1080

As far as i am aware, if the text looks washed out with VGA at non native resolution, it will look the same with DVI as well.

Text sharpness does not depend dat much on DVI/VGA. Change the monitor to the native resolution for urself. U won't find it any sharper at 1920x1080 in DVI than currently.

LCD monitors always look bad when they are not in their native resolution, so probably u need to be in HD to feel the monitor's goodness...:P

I tried changing res from 1440 to 1920, except the native one all resolutions look kinda washed, not only 1680. And this is how it should happen since none of the others are native resolution of the monitor.

Mr. himakanth009
I am having same lcd but found no problem as you said. I an running this lcd via DVi on HD4850 512mb.

Can you tell on which GFX are you running this LCD on ....

Can u post a screen shot of ur desktop?

a dvi convertor for vga cable is not going to make any difference, you would actually need a good gold plated dvi cable & a graphic card having a dvi output only then it will make a lot of difference.

I have the same LCD & its runs fine on native resolution with vga & dvi both.

Thanks for all your replies..Yes all the other resolution's other than the native resolution seem to be washed out a little. This seems to be the nature of LCD monitors. But I didnt have this kind of problem with my previous LCD, May be this being bigger I am able to notice the difference..Once again thanks for your replies...
