There are already many Android smartphones with high end camera sensors and tons of other features , but still they do not match the image quality of a dedicated camera ,
so Samsung has brought a point and shoot snapper with Android .

The Galaxy camera has 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor capable of ISO settings between 100 to 3200 along with a 21x optical touch zoon lens .
There is a huge 4.8 inch HD LCD screen to view videos and pictures , though it lacks a optical view finder . It can record video in Full HD 1080p .

The hardware is quite impressive as well , it has insane 1.4GHz Quad-core processor , 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD .
It also has Wi-Fi and 3G built in to share stuff on social networks . It also has other features like voice control , in-camera editing , cloud storage backup etc .

It measures at 2.7 inches by 0.75 inches and weighs in at 10.7 ounces .

Samsung has not disclosed pricing or availability of the Galaxy Camera yet , but one can expect it around $300-400 .

From now on I guess we would consider Processor/RAM/SOC and OS before buying a camera instead-of/along-with Sensor size/type, Zoom, MP, IS etc. :)

yeah saw the press conf last nite. This was one of the best products I have seen recently. Just waiting for the price factor. If its in the <20k I am surely going for it.
This damn thing can do a 125frames/min vdo :) and play it in slo mo. Coooollll

Even the refrigerators they displayed will be a hot selling thing in 2013. Thin insulation which provides more storage space in same fridge size. Its amazing.
The washing machine which they showcased uses bubbles which directly clean the bacteria/dirt from the clothes and clean then with less water.
Similar device was shown on BBC House of the future series. which uses bubbles and consumes only 20% of water as compared to conventional washing machines.
