Samsung has released two new versions of its youthful C3300K Champ without any fanfare. The E2652 and E2652W Champ Duos are both boosted with dual-SIM capabilities and 0.2-inch bigger screen, while the W-fella also gets Wi-Fi connectivity.

The new Champ Duos phones look much like the original Champ, even the rest of the specs are the same - a QVGA resistive display, a 1.3 megapixel snapper, an FM radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot. There is no built-in FM radio antenna and stereo speakers this time, but we guess those have been sacrificed for the second SIM slot (and the Wi-Fi connectivity).

Anyway, the Champ Duos E2652 and E2652W are currently available in Russia and the MEA region. There is no word on the pricing or expanded availability just yet.

So for all those who wants a cheap but good touch screen dual SIM active phone here comes the Samsung Duos :)

Definitely they woule be releasing this in India as we are one of the biggest consumers of the dual SIM handsets lineup.

Hey thanks for the update DarkAngel. i hope there would a non camera version too. champ non camera has a lot of demand in market and pretty hard to find here, as many companies do not allow camera phones :(

Even i have a C3300 Champ(w/o cam) :D

the new Champs have sacrificed the Dual Surround Speakers which made the phone awesome

i think i am gonna stick with the older and much awesomer champ, i need the dual speakers more than the xtra sim card slot and 0.2" more screen

They should have brought this with a capacitive screen...
not possible at that price point

Champs are available as low as 3.5k to 4k

it is too much to expect Capacitive touch

however the touch experience on Champ's resistive won't disappoint many

yeah i know. even their earphones are too good. you're still looking for BT headset?
Yeah. The ones who got it from ebay doesnt have serial nos on bill. So i will lose out on a good 6 months warranty as the import date is Sep 2010.
Waiting for coupouns or someone with a box pack date of 2011 ;)

Yup depends on preference. Some might want a dual SIM active phone and could compromise on loud speakers.

hey darkangel / funkysourav / other champ owners, can you please tell me if java google map installs and is capable of showing 'my location' on your champs? Most java handsets install google map nowadays but some dont support (the cell-tower triangulation based) 'my location' while some do.

i asked this on another thread but didnt get a reply. please let me know if you can and dont mind spending a few kbs of gprs for me :). you can get google maps for java here m.google.co.in/maps .... jar file size around 400 kb.

Yup. That's right. But considering that the current Champs are available for 3.5 to 4k, I am guessing the Dual Sim ones to be in the 4.5 to 5k bracket.
Now, that is decent amount of money for expecting a capacitive screen I think.

How is the battery life with champ duos? Any other good dual sim active with 3.5mm jack?

Good. I'm using it from last 10 days & can say one thing E2652 battery doesn't drain very fast. Sound is very very good with stock ear phone (amazing sound qulity... i really love headphone & sound clarity).

There may be few in market with dual sim & 3.5 mm jack but NOT Samsung :)
