I had a similar thread earlier for new Samsung Focus here. Seeing as I do multiple folks looking for deals on Focus, I am listing them here below. I had bid on them for another senior member but as I didn't hear back from him, I am putting these up here. I have won these auctions, and am yet to pay. So before I reject the sellers, I wanted to check if anyone is interested. PM me only if you are serious about buying. I am NOT the seller. I am NOT advocating these sellers. I am just acting as a mediator for purchase. I take NO cuts.

Listing 2: Used (no details available on how long) for $160. I have bought from this guy earlier too.

Samsung SGH I917 Focus Works Great | eBay

Please go through the listings and PM only if you really want to buy.

I will reject the sellers if I don't get any reply. Thanks :)

EDIT: 3 pieces taken, 1 remaining

Landing cost would be approx. 8250 INR for the $150 pieces and 8740 INR for $160 piece.

Updated with another listing on the first post.

^ I haven't had to reject anything so far. Someone or the other takes the pieces :) We have a wonderful community here. Moreover, I use different accounts for bidding :D

Yes. Focus is easy to unlock. Shripad and RVK2488 already have threads with reviews, and I have unlocked a few more phones for some other members.

Have replied to everyone's PM. Hopefully didn't miss anyone out.

^ So you won this one. It is a good deal. Just confirm with the seller if there are any scruff marks and you are good to go!

^ so is there anything i should keep in mind while dealing with refurbs??

Lol. was that you who was bidding with me and raised the price to this? :P

^ Oh no. I did see the listing, but didn't bother bidding as I got the feeling the price would go high :D To be honest, you have got a nice deal, but with some patience (actually quite some of it :D) you can get a refurbished one for around 10 - 15 USD more. Depends on whether you really want to save bucks or save time :)

Yea that's what I was talking about, that you can get refurbished ones for around 150 - 160 USD with some patience :)

So what should i do now, go ahead with this or ask the seller to cancel my purchase? The seller looks genuine to me.

I'd say NO to refurbished phones. ALWAYS. Refurbished laptops, YES. Refurbished phones NO! They have a very short life and use parts out of salvaged phones. ESPECIALLY Refurbished Blackberries. They are SO bad!

The only thing that I thing is not so favourable about this listing is the pricing. It is close to 180 USD. With some luck you can get new ones at 190 USD. Ask the seller if he has any info on the warranty of the piece and then take a call. If it is less or non-existent, you can give it a skip. Be professional and transparent with the seller. Most sellers I have come across do not mind a missed sale as long as you don't put them in the dark if you are buying or not.
