Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be unveiled at IFA this year in September 2013. Now rumor has it that the phone will sport an flexible, unbreakable OLED display.
The Galaxy Note 2 uses glass substrate which is durable but not unbreakable. The Note 3 is rumored to use a plastic substrate with LTPS active matrix and RGB patterned OLED. This will make it much more lighter and thinner compared to AMOLED displays with glass substrate.
The Note 3 is expected to feature large 5.5" to 6 inch screen. Also the source reports that Samsung plans to use a full HD resolution display but it might not be able to ramp up to the volume required or reach full HD resolution.
This is because the production lines for flexible OLEDs are not expected to reach mass production until Q3 2013, so due to the low volume we might see the OLED versions of the device getting shipped to selected carriers and regions.
