Samsung Galaxy S3's preorders started in India, book yours for Rs. 2000

Samsung has started to take preorders on their online Indian e-store for the Samsung Galaxy S3. The amount to book your order is Rs. 2000 and they're also promising a free gift with the mobile, though there are no details yet on the price of the mobile, or the launch date, and nor even what gift they'll be providing for preordering.

The Galaxy S3 was unveiled by Samsung on the 3rd of this month. A few reports were floating around the web that the preorder number has surpassed 9 million worldwide.

The Galaxy S3 is an impressive phone feature packed with a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.4 GHz Quad core CPU and running on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). It also has an auto focus 8 MegaPixel camera, Zero Shutter and a 1.9 MegaPixel Front Camera as well.

35k, that's about 650 aud........ reasonable price if the phone is a good one........... unfortunately prices down here for phones are sky high & while you can always get the handset for effectively nothing via a telco, they certainly stitch you up when it comes to providing network coverage.......

35k is way too optimistic, not impossible but too optimistic. In all parts of the world Galaxy S3 > Galaxy S2 in pre order price and besides that the value of Rs is against the indian version this time. Assuming S2 was 32-33k MRP, this should be at least 5-7k more.

Who will buy Samsung's quad-core for such a huge premium over One X. It will be windfall far HTC if they price it at 48,000 or 43,000.

You can get One X for 32K. I dont see this being worth the extra 6 to 10k.

35K is too optimistic, with the dollar rates and the preorder numbers, I see it retailing arnd 38 to 42K with the high end priced arnd 45K(IMO, not worth it).

IMO I have asked a friend retailer, he said street price for the basic variant will be 38-39k. So probably 45k+ for 32gb and 50-55k for 64gb.

That price is due to blanket discount on certain sites which are not specific to One X. Retail price is still over 35k here in Mumbai. Online prices will stabilize at 34 -35k mostly after promotion is over on 31st.

But at the same time I think sgs 3 too well be available at same price after initial hoopla is over in matter of week or two.
Knowing Samsung, I won't be surprised if we get only 1 model and price lower than international price for that model here.

Its available for preorder at under £415 in UK. So that is encouraging and almost guarantees that it will be below 40k.
After all, sgs2 was cheapest here and in Vietnam.

From my One X, in your face....
