Is Samsung galaxy tab S worth the money ??
36k for 8.4" inch , can we compare this newbie with the iPad
looks impressive though...
 
its display is rated to be the best in any tablet. personally speaking, i would never squander that amount of money on an android tab when the ipad retina mini lasts longer, has better apps and is cheaper.
 
The tablet is not just screen. It is pretty good overall too.
Good responsiveness, properly positioned speakers (which really should have been achieved earlier), build quality is pretty good too. Basically comes across as a polished product.

It is simply not meant for people who think about the budget.

I would say, wait some more time for the prices to come down dramatically just like all other Samsung product.
This is highly priced product. But, Samsung is not Apple or Sony that can afford to introduce those products at those prices. Samsung is no longer considered a premium brand now.
 
I dont think Samsung ever intended to play the premium card.
The initial pricing is always there to make the hay from people who want to immediately jump on the bandwagon. The price cut always follows with Samsung, and everybody knows about it.

What really will be interesting to see is how much of a price cut Samsung will be willing to bring for this tablet. It is a premium device, and if it fails to notch up numbers and Samsung makes it very cheap (vis a vis the launch price) it will send the wrong signals for the brand name as well.
 
I would rather wait for Nexus 9. It will have bigger screen and will be cheaper than this overpriced tab.
 
I don't think price will come down for this tablet. This tablet has monopoly of amoled screen. Tablet is not even available on online. (don't count eBay)
 
I was in a similar situation. Was confused as i thought that 8.4 inch tablet will be the best compromise for both reading and portabality.
Went to the local samsung distributor and had a go at the brown colored version. Hardware wise it felt perfect although the ui did look intimidating.
A personal and strange custom i always follow is to visit the xda page of the device before purchasing it. The device was already rooted and a few custom roms, krrnels were already popping up. But all this looked intimidating enough to me to change my decision and go for an ipad air.
I called the seller today and was surprised to know that the tab s (8.4) is already out if stock in our town. And guess what the hottest selling point is. Not the screen, nor the processor. It is the simple fact that it can make calls and send std sms.
Which ipad mini cannot,nor any other ipad except ipad 2 with a jb tweak.

Tab s is avaialble at samsung india estore.
 
If android is what you want, get it. Worth it. 8.4" offers amazing screen clarity, touch response and portability. However I didnt use it with any case. So.

But I would suggest any iOS tablets over it any day. Simply better. On the same note, you fancy any windows tablet? full version ones please.

But wait for September/October. Nexus 8 or 9 or 11 or something may be out. :D.

Waiting game is nonsense .. I desperately want this tablet 10.5 one because i watch movie and season a lot in dark room and amoled black level are awesome. Maybe i need to wait for some Chinese counterparts. 3g, Processor , graphics doesn't matter to me.
