Although Samsung hasn't launched the Gear 2 Solo smartwatch yet, it was leaked via a shipping manifest as a bundle was sent from South Korea to India for 'R&D purpose'. There have been rumblings of a SIM version beforehand, and now it's looking very real indeed.
The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo allow you to take and place calls via your mobile phone, thanks to a built-in speaker and mic - something that works rather well, but with the unintended effect of making you look like a total numpty. The Samsung Gear 2 Solo should have the same abilities, but without the need to hook up to your Galaxy phone - handy if your mobile dies and you need to contact someone urgently.
