I have taken possession of my brother's Samsung infuse and going to use for few days as secondary phone and see if I am facing any issues or not.
But as of now itself there seems to be some stray issues like not so good battery life and one camera problem and phone hanging frequently.
My brother says he did not have these problems on Froyo and hence I want to try going back to Froyo to see if I can eliminate these problems. I wish to then sell this phone so need to ensure it works perfectly.
Anyone knows how to get Froyo on my Infuse ?
It was officially updated to gb using kies

You will probably need to find a ROM and flash it via Odin. Check samfirmwares/sammobile

Rak I would say flash PA.3.6 4.2.2 I think that's the best of the lot.....works better then GB.

Have you done this yourself ? I am asking because i am very very reluctant to do any custom ROM stuff lest i screw up something to brick the device and make it totally unusable and unsellable. Also if i follow the instructions given on the thread link you gave, will it successfully install the JB ROM on my phone? It seems to be a 2 step process to first go to ICS and then JB.
Can you tell me whether the jelly bean ROM has any major bugs or major feature not working ? This is important because since i am going to sell this phone, i don't want something important to not work so as to upset the potential buyer. But yes having Jelly Bean would probably please the buyer more as he will have latest android OS in his phone.
I went through the steps which are to be done and they really scare me. So i have few questions..

1. The first step says ---- Obtain CWM, this can be done using Jscotts Odin back to stock (Follow instructions use SGS kernal flasher to obtain CWM)
I believe this means i use the back to stock 187 MB package (i will use the root one) and follow ODIN specific steps and get the GB ROM stock. After this is done i flash the KERNEL from this link -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212795

2. From step 1, there is a link for Kernel, i think i will just download the latest version from the 4 versions uploaded here (each approx 6.3x MB). I need to use some sort of app from play store to flash this kernel, right ? Also what is the file "DD_03042012.zip" on the above link ?

3. Next step says, use the IMEI Backup script which i believe is the EFS_Backup one, where and how am i supposed to run this ?
Also instead of this sh script, can i use the app called EFS Pro and then backup the EFS ?

After installing ICS, the process seems simpler and straightforward.

Sorry for long post.

Yes i had done it personally and used infuse with PA 3.6 and felt it was more smother then GB or any other 4.3 ROM.

The steps above are all correct but i would recomend using Stock rom from here with CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523

The DD03042012 file jad some video fix.

Efs script- You have flash it from recovery, Also remember to flash it when u are on GB Rom, It does not works on ICS or JB. I think the Efs app does not works on Infuse.

BTW if you are on Ginger bread ROM you can flash a kernal with CWM to obtain recovery. check the second post of this thread.

Please ensure that you go thru ICS, do not bypass installing ICS since it updates certain files which ensure smooth running.

When you are flashing/formatting something in CWM - do not turn off the phone - it could become a brick.

Personally, with ODIN, I think you dont need to worry too much, plus if you are stuck, USB jig to the rescue ;)

Thanks for all the help people. There is a high probability I am not going to go ahead with flashing of any sort.
I just want to sell as it is.
As of now I am using the phone as secondary and for me it works fine and don't really have much issue except buzz sound from camera when camera app is opened (it goes away when I tap screen). Seems known issue I read about it.
Hope to see it soon.
