Samsung Metro 3G - The best phone around 5K ?

Hey guys, a friend went mobile hunting the other day and came back impressed with this phone, it was retailing for Rs. 5200.
With that budget i recommended him the Nokia 5130XM and the SE Naite. But the Sony Erricson seems hard to find and the Nokia pales in comparison to the Metro 3G's specs.
It has a 3.2 MP cam and 3G. Can any one confirm if its full 3G or that limited to 384kbps one?
The requirement is for a decent specced phone in 5K budget with full fledged 3G being a bonus.

Please do suggest any other phone too if possible, brand no bar.

MY friend has it and its 3g speeds avg on 2.5Mbps on BSNL 3G

Comes with a properiatery jack which is a downer IMO. U can get the SE Cedar (Naite Successor) from online stores like flipkart/ebay. It is better VFM, has a micro USB port and 3.5mm jack.(HSDPA 7.6Mbps)

^^ Its not a smartphone anyway...its running a propeitary Java OS. Its like Nokia S40 Phones. You wont find CPUinfo for these ....good thing is Internal memory is 380MB

nice phone but i think front cam is must as its basic and most imp feature of 3g which is most cheapest to use
