Android is everywhere. Google has spread it's operating system around like a virus, and it spread like wildfire (s). The operating system is on pretty much every phone these days, is being used by almost every other person from smartphones to tablets to even low end smartphones (entry level). There's Smart TVs which have Android installed them too! But something, just something new that hasn't been done yet, and so Samsung decided to do it. Introducing the world's first Android Refrigerator, the Samsung T9000 (even the name sounds like a DROID model).
Samsung T9000 Android driven Refrigerator

So Samsung put Android on it's latest Refrigerator. Big deal, so what's the use? Why would I buy such a product? The product has a 10.1" touch panel running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (ooh!). The user interface has been customized to enable quick access (for when your fingers are messy).

The touch panel has some additional features:
  • deliver culinary content
  • dictate recipes to you
  • connect to the Web over Wi-Fi

The touchscreen gives you complete control over the fridge, including temperature and moisture control over specific compartments. That, is pretty handy when you need to quickly configure temperature, or only set it for specific locations where you have stored the food items. Can save power too this way (probably).

An interesting product, certainly something new. However, the price doesn't excite (makes you run the opposite direction). At $3,999 it's nothing to laugh at. Android is everywhere, but just not ready for the Refrigerator yet.
