KOREAN PHONE GIANTSamsung has started rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to its flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone.
Samsung has told us that the update has already started rolling out in Poland, before "gradually" rolling out to other markets. We checked whether we could install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on our Galaxy S3 handset in the UK, but unfortunately it's not quite ready here yet.
Of course, the update will land on SIM free handsets first, but we've been in touch with UK mobile operators to find out when they plan to release the update.
Still, it sounds like the update will be worth the wait. According to Samsung, it will make the Galaxy S3 "faster and more responsive" thanks to Project Butter, and it will also deliver an intuitive new user interface complete with Google Now.
Other incoming features include Easy Mode, which allows quick access to your most used widgets, Blocking Mode for screening calls, a Pause function for the camera and an enhanced Pop up Play function.
Samsung has told us that it will also be bringing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to its Galaxy Tab 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam and Galaxy Mini 2.
