hello ppl,

I have a 45 days old samsung syncmaster 2033, it was workin fine till today but now i m experiencing a problem. While working , the monitor goes off for a while (approx- 5secs) and then comes back. Everything else seems to be workin fine. While the monitor goes off the blue led remains ON.

I have an ASUS MOBO p5kpl-am in, intel g33/g31 xpress chipset family, win xp pro, pentium e5200
and am currently using the onboard gfx crd itself.....
i have already re-installed the graphic and monitor drivers---no success !!!

PLZ HELP !!!!

Give a call from where u bought the LCD. It should have onsite warranty. Or try calling Samsung customer care. I think its a hardware fault, nothing can be done by you.

R u sure ur power options are not switching off the monitor. For example in my case, i have set it for 2 minutes idle and monitor off. When u start working again, it comes up.

So probably something similar in ur case. Check monitor power settings in power options of control panel. :)

the power options r pretty ok...coz i disabled the power saver mode.

Now there seems to b a new development, i jus swapped the power-sockets on the ups and it seems to be workin fine for NOW......can UPS be the culprit??? I m using a LUMINOUS UPS (600VA)....

Yes sir UPS would be the culprit, i had the exact same problem but it was with my old CRT monitor and was using a cheap UPS to run my system. You are saying that you have changed the sockets, i hope you are not running your PC on that. Coz power fluctuations will take out other PC components.

Also check the the (power plug)connectors and see if there is some black soot covering your Monitor socket or some cut marks on them.

PS: Please refrain from using so much of that SMS type English. It becomes really hard to read.

me thinkz people here becomin mo n mo buzinezz minded......ain't here fa nufin but tradin..........

really doesn't sound great coming from a person who has 14posts(nt including posts in this thread) in 6months.... 11 posts out of which are in trading section alone..

to be more statistical... 9/10 of your 1st 10 posts fall under trading section.

as for the issue you are facing... your UPS seems to be the culprit.

DEAR FRIENDS
I am also a Samsung 2033SW owner.. I've also similar problem...
I brought my 2033 SW in the month of June 2009... after 3 months, one day my monitor starts showing some problems. One day, half portion of the monitor goes black and other half portion starts jerking. Its similar to the missing of Drivers. I've reinstalled the drivers and Xp too.. Nothing happend. But i've noticed that the problem exist only in the resolution 1600x900, and the monitor works fine in the below resolutions.. I've immediately contacted the computershop from i've purchased it, rather contacting the Customer service(samsung), because one of my friend working as a service guy in a famous distributor in Kerala, India,; told me that the same model has a lot off complaints. And as per his instruction I've contacted the computershop. They brought my monitor to the Samsung service centre. They upgrade the software first, but the problem still remains; then they changed the entire motherboard of the LCD(am not sure, they told so), problem remains. Finaly after 3 weeks they approved to replace the LCD. Again one week for the replacement. Finaly on 26-Oct-2009(today), they brought a new one..

Anyway I am not sure about this one.. Lets hope for the best...

And on June 2009, comparing to the compatator's models Samsung 2033SW was only one best model with a Dynamic Contrast ration of 15000:1; All others are below 10000:1 or 1000:1.. Unfortunately this month (after 4 months - October 2009), all the available model in the market are at a minimum Contrast ratio of 50000:1...

So I planed to replace mine with a better model, my suggessions are Acer, LG models or samsungs P2350 or P2250.

I think you have an older samsung monitor. The one which i have is a plus model. Has a dynamic contrast ratio of 50000:1. I bought the model in july. People have only good things to say about the newer lcd.
