huhhuh
couldnt agree with you more :ohyeah:

Radeon

1912-3 has a 5ms respond time and has very little to 0 backlight bleeding unlike the 940, See both the lcds and then come here and spam :P

I have used Viewsonic VA1912wb and have seen 940BW operating recently, so my suggestion is firm about Samsung 940BW.

Funny, you're not even using LCD, and yet you're making such bold statement, highly opiniated.

...because he has seen these LCD's in action and used them over the last 2 TE lanparties at Bangalore, and so have Karan and I ;) Either way, you seem highly experienced with display technology but your answer to my question earlier was irrelevant and of no help to buyers - for canned marketing jargon, buyers can go to the respective manufacturer sites itself :)

@Karan - ^I wouldn't call the 940BW crap either. It's decent FOR THE PRICE. At different price levels, there are different best-buys, IMO, and for ~15K, it's an excellent buy.

^^Neither are crap but the viewsonic is much sharper. The colors are slightly better on the samsung. But either way they are cheap lcds and you get what you pay for hehe.

:) :) Even computer warehouse on mg road is showing 15k for the samsung monitor. sp road should be more cheap...20k is ridiculous...ur dealer is a cheat..

Computer Warehouse Online - Product Catalogue

Also there is a small shop called acme computers. Take the left side before reaching golcha..That guy is from my native place..He does take back old items. You can check if you want too
hey thanks Raj.
I got my Viewsonic VA1912-BW3 from Acme on SP road today. Unfortunately everywhere i went all prices were on the higher side. Some dealers said that costs had increased since last week.

So after the samsung service center guy gave up on my flickering Samsung 17" crt , I decided to go to SP and buy either a VA1912 or BW 940.

All shopkeepers were quoting 15.6k (inc vat) for the Samsung 940 and 15k for viewsonic.

Finally i went to Acme who at first agreed to take my old CRT but later saw some flickering and was totally against any buy backs.

After a nice talk :D for half n hour he agreed to take back my monitor after a last check (which surprisingly started working fine in the end  )

So finally it cost me 13.5k after exchange (actually 13.7k. 200 bucks for credit card charges..ouch! )

A nice LCD i must say. also got a free DVI cable with it :ohyeah:

Actually it was officially a "Widescreen day" for me. Got my office LCD also replaced with a HP 2335 22" widescreen and the home one to VA1912bw3.

Thanks All.

ya...its awesome. probably should have got it a day after i got my va1912. Now my poor viewsonic is overshadowed by this giant.

I got a viewsonic 1912wb for Rs.14k just this saturday. Seems good to me...though i must say dark scenes in videos etc. look more darker than thaey should...and the vertical viewing angle could have been better...otherwise nice display.

I got mine for 13 k from Prime Mumbai ,couple of months ago . I must say , it works beautifully . i have never had any blurring and ghosting , have played Quake 3 on it for more than half the time and i felt its very good . cant say i have had much to compare it with but i am not certainly disappointed .

Welcome anyday....

Vikas is a nice guy...but you have to bargain a a bit with him...

He mostly has some of the lowest prices in Bangalore...
