Dear Techenclave Mates,

I am desperately looking for one decent mp3 player for my daughter.

After go through many threads, it appears that Sansa clip+ 2gb is most popular choice.

Need your further feedback. Also want to buy compatible memory card 2/4gb & best earphone to use with Sansa.

1. Which 2/4gb memory card should i opt to play in sansa.

2. Looking for a DECENT SQ Ear phone. PL11 or PL21 or any other? Not sure. Pl suggest.

3. Where its available i.e. Shops Address in Ahmedabad or Rajkot? Already visited TATA Croma, Vijay Sales & sales india at ISKON char rasta, ahmedabad. They even dont know word-SANSA when asked.:S

Want to buy as quick as possible for my daughter. Pl help.
 
Its not available in India officially so no shop will have it. :(

The Soundmagic PL-21 is a good balanced earphone and its not too expensive.

Any micro SD card will do. Take your pick - Transcend, Sandisk, Kingston. I personally prefer Kingston but thats only because their service centre is close to my house. :)

Just a suggestion...your daughter may prefer a more 'trendier' MP3 player like the iPod. I personally dislike iPods, but kids these days :P
 
Another suggestion , incase battery life is important for you get a higher capacity Clip+ instead of adding memory card.Clip+ as it is has a very low battery life of 7-8 hrs max and with a microSD card its reduced by another 1-2 hrs .

The Clip+ and Philips earphones combo by Pristine note could be decent enough for your daughter. Get the PL-21 only if really needed. This guy gives 1 year of warranty and a proper bill. Also usually delivers in 1-3 days of payment depending on location .:)
 
^^ +1 to that... Ipod Shuffle 3G if trendier is needed

Or if you are more concerned with Sound Quality and all.. then go with Sansa... which is quite cool lookin IMO.. ;)

Just ask Pristine Note via ebay to Relist the CLip+ 2GB at rs 2200 without the philips headphones... cause the 2200rs listing just ended.. Trusted dealer pristine..

Then get the SoundMagic PL21 headfones from any of the TE dealers on TE or ebay..

The finally get the SanDisk 4GB Micro SDHC Card from ebay which comes with 5 yr warranty or Sandisk cards should be available easily locally..

PS - If ur budget is more than 5 -6 k go for the Apple Ipod Nano 8GB 5th generation Pink colour... should be trendy and good enough... ;)

But there is twist now:no: Just seen SonyWalkman B series 2gb web pages. sounds good. This sony also available in our mini city-Jamnagar. Walkman looks pretty good, trendy & fully loaded with features.

Am crossed my fingers now.:huh:
 
^ As I told you already if Sound quality is not very important to you and you don't plan to use any 3rd party gear it wouldn't make any difference if you get the Clip+ or Sony walkman .The only reason I think one would want the Sony is looks ,which is subjective :) See how much is the price difference between the two and what are your actual needs and then decide.Personally I would prefer the Clip+ any day for the SQ as well as the simple UI + buttons

firstly it would be great if can specify ur max budget...

and if you have trust issues with buying anything from mumbai and any other city..

then i would suggest you go for the Apple Ipod Shuffle 2gb/4gb 3rd generation which should be quite easily available in jamnagar..

and if you insist on audiophile sound quality then go for clip+ and soundmagic headfones..

Both of the above are under Rs.4000/-

I have personally bought the 4 gb one from this guy....very easy and fast transaction..As of now, looking for a pair of headphones to buy ..
 
I would say get the Clip+ as its smaller and more compact.

The sony walkman should be considered only if you are worried about warranty as its always nice to get something from a brick and motar store as you can test out the player and see if it works, plus the store can help you with any warranty issues.

With all your blesses and wishes, finally Sansa clip+ is on the way from Pristine note. He is really a gentle & approachable person.

I cant hold myself for waiting period now. Vl update you after arrival....
