Sapphire 5850 OCing insane ! almost 40% ! ..

hi guys ..

was bored so decided to finally oc my 5850 :ashamed: , CCC limit was really annoying at 775 mhz so finally did softmod and starting ocing ... this card overclocks insane , almost reached 40% overclock now . see pics below :D

Battlefield bad company 2 - FPS increased by 15-20 , before i was getting around 75-85 average at full settings 1080p and now 95-100 ;)

used Asus bios with smart doctor to increase vcore from 1.078 to 1.18v and its fully stable at 950 mhz core / 5300 mhz mem . memory on this card seems to be overclocking great as most cards do max 1200 -1250 mhz stable but its stable upto 1400mhz on this :O :D

for benching card is stable at 1ghz on core and 5400mhz on memory with 1.25v but it runs warmer ..

created fan profile with smart doctor and now temps dont cross 66C and 42 idle .
 
^ lol my card is also sapphire .that MSI kombustor i just used for stress testing . WEI is little buggy anyway, sometimes due to ati powerplay the score drops .

all reference design cards are SAME in performance though they might overclock differently ..

actually MSI / ASUS bios is better than sapphire . sapphire has limit of 775mhz on core and 1100 on memory :@

the card is giving BIG boost , see this chart of gpu score , even when gulftown 6 core i7 is used the score of gtx 480 and 5870 is less than my score ( 19827 P ) in vantage :P

And good clocks as well. Now how about some hwbot scores? :P

Perhaps under the top 10 in air for the 5850? :)

lol didnt push it to max yet , also my cpu was running at low clocks due to hot climate :( will try later pushing to max .

it was running at 1030mhz on core stable for few min but was little warm at 70C .

current score will be 12th on hwbot but didnt post yet .
 
^ SSD rocks man .. pc feels much faster than before . boots in less than half time and apps open within a sec .

btw saw ur post in mushkin thread , getting sandforce ? :P
 
^Not ATM. Have diverted the funds for a purchase I have been waiting for. :ashamed:

I'd definitely buy one when Phoenix's officially certified as a dealer for Mushkin and I decide to do a computer upgrade - perhaps this year end. :P
 
yea, 1GHz is easy... I WONT dare to hit that clock now, HIT it last WINTER< it was idling 37C with 20% fan(DELHI winter is cold)..

i hit 1000MHz c/1350Mhz mem then...never tried again cuz i dun need it, instead UNDERVOLTED THE shit out of it
