In non tessellation heavy games, the new 5850 is very close to 6870 in performance and even manage to outperform the 6870 in some games and consumes lesser power as well. The best bit is that it is priced at an impressive 149$ and overclocks extremely well. The new 5830 sits at $129 and is not nearly as impressive but still seems to be the top performer at 129$. Even more shocking is that at Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100282XTREME Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity the price of the 5850 extreme is listed at $129, though it is out of stock. If it comes back into stock again at the same price it will surely sell like hot cakes. These cards, especially the 5850 extreme, would be ideal for the Indian market if launched at a reasonable price.
