Hi,

Anyone know where I can get the Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 from (and price too).
Had tried getting from SMC but they went out of stock. Also seems the same case at lynx-india.
Any other places we can try?

TIA

I'd suggest you to wait and get the Sapphire card. A whole extra year of warranty compared to HIS.

Yup extra year warranty will enhance the resale value of the card too. Better wait up for Sapphire stocks to be available if u are not in a hurry.

seriously, HIS have to come with 3 years warranty for India, atleast
Else, they dont have the same value, as compared to Sapphire, which brings in same quality and with better RMA (compared to other brands, not HIS)

I hope Purnam Tech can negotiate with HIS on the warranty part.

The extra warranty really matters during resale, as very few people use the same card for more than 2 years.

Not sure if the 3 year warranty is applicable elsewhere since Newegg lists the cards with a 2 year warranty.

Howvere, HIS has a pretty good customer support. I have a HIS 4870 1 GB sourced from the US through KMD *sigh* and the fan conked out after a month's usage. I contacted the customer support asking if they would ever replace the card, should something go wrong later. They were very prompt in their response and said I could send back the card with a support number and it should be resolved.

However, I seriously wish they have a 3 year warranty on the cards. Hell, Zotac offers a 3 + 2 year warranty upon registering the card. Talk about uber resale value - in case something goes wrong later, a replacement card would be an upgrade over the old one.

Please check the HIS cards thread from Purnam Tech now. The cards have 3 yr warranty now only in India thanks to the effort of Shripad and Bhushan :)

I'd buy the HIS with my eyes closed especially since I know ASS is going to be top notch.

Oh I did not quite notice this new thread of theirs with the updated 3 year warranty policy - http://www.techenclave.com/dealers-paradise/his-amd-ati-graphics-cards-limited-180437.html

Because the earlier thread mentioned it as 2 years. Anyhow the thread is closed and so is this query I guess. Good move from Shripad and Bhushan indeed.

Sorry for the OT, but has anyone dealt with Bitfang.com here? I mean, they have some stuff which I'm not getting anywhere else and I just want to know if the site is reliable and particular about shipping or not.
