Found very good site where SATA II HDD's (3Gb/s) of Brands have been compared i.e., Seagate, Hitachi, WD, Maxtor.

Still I would like to ask which one is the most problem free drive and also good in terms of Service and Warranty.

in the current senario, I would sum it up as follows ...
Most Reliable : Hitachi T7K500 Series
Fastest : Seagate 7200.10 (If budget is no concern then WD Raptor)
Best Service : Seagate
Silent : Western Digital / Samsung

To me reliability is the main concern, I am ready to compromise on performance to some extent if my drive runs problem free for atleast 3 yrs. Hence between Seagate and Hitachi which should I go for??

The 250GB HDDs are not the popular size for the 7200.10 or the T7K500 series of HDDs... check for the same HDDs in 320GB size and you will get many more feedbacks.
