Hi dudes,

Its common knowledge that the nForce4 Ultra have 4 Nvraid SATA ports on them.

I wanted to know if it was possible to have 2 WD Raptors in RAID-0 and a Seagate 250GB SATA as a third non raid drive in the same controller ?

Cheers,

Karan

So you mean it is possible to setup the first 2 drivers in RAID-0 and just leave the other driver alone and it will work?

Are all 3 of the Drives SATA? Or 2 SATA one PATA sumthing?

Coz accoring to my knowledge, all SATA drives will be put under RAID-0.

Not too sure about this, i havent had and SATA HDD's till now.

It depends upon chipset :P. NF chipsets can span SATA and PATA drives. You can have them in whatever config you like.

Yes. ...You can.

just select the SATA drives you want to raid in the bios setup.all nf4 ultra bios'es generally have this option. The third sata that you do not want to raid , do not select that.
and it will function as normal HDD.

ps: individual raid drives will not be visible in the hdd detection screen. the third one (non-raid) will be. this is an important hint /clue while configuring the raid setup in the bios.

(The above info is from the bios in the DFI ultra-D.)
