Hey Guys,

I have AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE processor and i've used CoolerMaster 212 Plus since Day one of the purchase of this processor.

I regularly clean my computer inside every 1 month & format my system every 3 months.

Recently around 10th March I cleaned my computer, Plugged it back in & started using it... My system stays on for like 18 hours a day.. i do a few hours of gaming everyday.

Today I was just checking my BIOS & I accidentally entered on PC Health Status, I was shocked to find that it was running at 83°C. I thought something was wrong with the sensors or something as mine use to run steady on 39°C so i booted into windows & launched PC Wizard, that too indicated my CPU temp at 80°C & Core Temps at 84°C. so I decided it was time to do some cleaning so i opened up my case & i found out that the Fan connector was not so i plugged it back in & started my computer & it came to normal 39°C.

So i was probably save by my Coolermaster 212 plus.

ur lucky that u somehow ended up in the bios...wonder what wud have been of ur proccy if it wud have been running at that temp...

maybe some divine intervention came ur way...

i check my temp whenever i switch on my pc,maybe u shud do the same from now on...

though i don't need to worry coz my thor keeps my pc well within the limits even without the fan running!!:D:D:D

Umm if the temp crosses a certain limit then the system automatically shuts down to prevent damage. The limit varies according to the temp. Have u disabled automatic shutdown in the BIOS?

^^ probably more than 15 days... continuously running for 15- 18 hours a day.

no its not disabled.

Best to keep Realtemp minimized in the system tray with the alarm set to go off at high temperatures. Started doing that after a sudden gpu fan failure sometime back.

Honestly, better late than never. But at least you realized the folly and fixed it. What temperatures you getting now. Ideally keep a Win7 gadget which shows temperatures.

Hope someone is running through some lucky days.:bleh:

I guess RealTemp is only for Intel Processors. Correct me If I am wrong.

Can you provide the link to Win7 gadget showing Temps. I am just able to monitor my RAM and CPU usage Gadget.

Yes RealTemp is only for Intel Processors... Mentioned so on their site.

I don't particularly use a Gadget, as Gadgets alone cannot give you the temps, you need some app running that give you the temp which the Gadget will display.

I use PC Wizard, When Minimized It shows you a small text on the corner of the screen with your Core Speeds & CPU & GPU Temps.

The apps that would be required to run for a gadget depends on the gadget you download. some use CoreTemp / Everest etc.

Actually come to think of it. CoreTEMP has an option to show temperatures in the task bar. It minimizes to the task bar too.

Should work for AMD.

so thats why he did not have shutdown.

+1 Using Core Temp to monitor the Temp.
