To share with larger audience, here the steps for raising an issue with SBI -
1. Raise a ticket aka online complaint form at here.
Ticket opening is a must as that is the proof of when the issue was raised.

2. Follow up with helpline.lhodel@sbi.co.in

3. In case you are not satisfied with the response from the branch you can escalate the issue to chairmansbi.customer@sbi.co.in or dgm.customer@sbi.co.in.

4. Finally you can write to the RBI’s Banking Ombudsman. Find more details here.

Hehe, magnet no offence but u seriously need to work on your written english! Maybe m getting old or something but i needed a timeout there to decipher that block! :bleh:

ya i know....i typed in hurry

thinking again net will get disconnected.....

anyways in short stay away frm govt service as far as possible

My friend has account in CANARA BANK...he kept his account there since he can only keep 40 bucks in it..and the account still remains alive...but problem is everytime he visits the bank he has to do social service for 40 people writting pay slip, withdrawl slip,etc...no help side from the bank

LOL at my place you always get the draft at 5:30 PM, it doesn't matter when you submit the form. they all are lazy a$$.. when its importent then have to find an uncle to do the job..

Guess the Public sector banks are almost the same everywhere. In my town (Chitradurga) i had gone to open a SBI savings account 5 years back. The Officer there told me to come back after a week as he was busy. I was like -"i need the account urgently..if you want i can come tommorow." u know wht he answered???
"Open the account in some other bank if you are in such a hurry"""
this is the way the behave with a would be customer!!!imagine what their service would be??? i left immediately and went to Canara bank whcih amazingly had a good PR officer who immediately filled my form himself and i had account activated on the same day. Actaually the Canara bank brach was nearer to my home, i only wanted SBI for their online account and wider ATM network....but their service was horrible!!! When i enquired i got to know that almost all the SBI officers/empolyees are very rude at the branch so i went and had a talk with the manager. He was very polite, he santioned my account immediately ...but for his officers behaviour he had a justification that since a lot of illiterate/ rural people visited the bank the officers had a tendency to shout to make them understand!!!:S
and thats why they are rude!!!:@
some explaination!!!!
Maybe the officer thought i was a farmer when i said i was an architect!!!:@
i just left without further arguments...
sad...there are no private sector banks in my town...but guess even if they were there the situation would have been any better @SBI!!!:(

seriously..

govt @ any jobs su*s...

PS:

well i got my dd made within 5 minutes yesterday itself, where normally they say to come @ 5pm which is actually after banking hours (1.5 hrs later)

i have made up my mind.

next time wont take any of these GOVT. *sh!t* fallin over me... instead will throw it back on them with some of my pooo in it !

Man I used to bank with Canara Bank and I really dont know how they show a profit. There were numerous times that I would go in for a cash deposit or for a DD or something like that and I would find people of manager level sitting and gossiping with each other while the client is waiting for his/her work. I even found a lady officer in charge of DD issuing sitting and knitting in the office while chatting away with the guy in the next table.

I wonder how they manage to make money as well as hold on to clients when you have much better banking services available with most private banks these days.

Lol, but one of the instances I had takes the cake.

There is a UBI branch next to my house, apparently 4-5 years back whenever I go to the bank either for a cheque deposit or cash withdrawal or making of a DD. A very frequent answer I got used to be "Systems nahi chal raha hai" this went on many time and I thought they might be genuinely having some network related issue.

One day, the "techie" inside got a little curious and I asked the lady behind the counter what exactly the issue was:

"Screen band ho jata bahut baar"

Hmm it seemed like a normal hardware issue to me, and I asked whether I can have a look.

And you will not believe what the issue was, the screen was going in a stand-by mode due to inactivity!!!

Those buggers might be accidentally moving the mouse or keyboard resolving the issue, but cant imagine how many productive hours they wasted because of the bizarre issue...

I am banking with ICICI/HDFC/HSBC/CITY BANK/SBI/PNB/BOI and one two more banks.

My experience with ICICI/HDFC is very good no match for online services. When it comes to SBI/PNB they simply suck in providing offline branch services. In SBI cash deposit would easily takes 3-4 hours, just imagine standing in big lines with smelly people in hot summer day.

I prefer online banking always....complete peace of mind.

Dont expect govt banks to be courteous. U should be thankful that they actually work-though in sort of a lethargic way.

even I wait for an hour for depositing/withdrawing amt(if i ever go to bank ie)-considering my mother is SBI manager:rofl:

If i want to take DD i go to State Bank of Mysore near my house and get the work done in few minutes :D Thinking of getting an account with them for offline usage. The persons working there are very helpful despite me not being their customer.

Depositing money in SBI is a nightmare for me all the time, i have to go 30 minutes before in order to get a token number between 30 to 50 :|
