Googled a bit and found out that it can be repaired bu using toothpaste. Should i try this method.
I would rather suggest to have a Virtual Copy of the CD. This way neither you'll be needing purchase another cd nor you'll have to waste your toothpaste :)

Wait is that an Indian console and an original game copy? If so then doesn't Microsoft replace your DVD copy? I mean I had heard some DVD ROM issues with Xbox 360 doing rounds wherein it would scratch the DVD's internally & render it useless.I had one of my friends get a brand new copy of Gears Of War sent out to him in exchange for his busted copy.

Yes it is an Indian console and an original game copy but the replacement warranty, you are talking about is only for 3months from the purchase date and mine is used for more than a year.

though u r dvd is working perfectly now..

i found this on you tube sometime back. and if the video is genuine maybe even the trick really works.

how to clean scratched cd with banana .:P

YouTube - How To Remove CD Scratches With A Banana

look at the video closely. ..before cleaning the cd had some scratches and then in the end most of the scratches..

dunno if u can believe the video ?

if its this really possible..maybe i need to try it with some old disc ..and a banana !

PS: Try it at your own risk and a fresh banana

EDIT : they say it even removes scratches off a ipod ..we should ask Mr. Steve to give a banana free with ipod
