WP Screen Mirroring on Windows Phone 8 (or earlier)

We're planning to demo some WP apps, but can't find any way to mirror WP8 apps onto a big screen. For our iphones we use airplay mirroring and androids we use their hdmi out, but can't find a way to get this for our windows phones (bunch of lumias)

Possible solutions tried
micro usb to HDMI MHL adapter - doesnt work
Custom ROMS with HDMI over video out enabled - legal grey area, don't want to take the liability
PhotoBeamer, Play to DLNA - looking to mirror the display, not stream media


Is there any way we can do this?

You should hit the Microsoft forums and ask them how they do it. As far as i know, only way would be to have the screen on full bright and point a camera at it that links to the projector. No inbuilt solution.

Nokia seems to be using some custom firmware that isn't available to the public. Right now we are planning to go the cam route for the phones.

best solution is to use a laptop in-between. you'll anyways have one during the demo.

you can try MyMobiler. i used it for almost everything for WM5 and 6. there should a newer version for WP8.

and then there's no dearth of solutions for windows-to-windows connectivity...VNC etc

no Wp8 version for mymobiler not for Wp7 even.

Wait a second, you can try the sdk emulator that runs on the laptop!
