Storage Solutions SD card acting ghostly

hey guys,
seems like a virus problem to me!

my brother deleted a virus which was detected by NOD32 in autorun of the card

since then the pictures in it got corrupted ,it gets formatted sometimes and sometimes shows an error while formatting,data stored gets corrupted after removing the card.

what could it be?
The card is Sony's memory gate pro duo 2gb

Well I had similar problem with my Sony Pro Duo card...did you remove the card from camera and inserted to memory slot or used a memory card reader to read the card? If yes then your card might have damaged and you can't use it any more. Happened to me. So after this incident I never remove memory card from cam to access it.

i removed the card from the camera and pluged in the memory slot of the lappy

then how do we make space in the card for storage of new photos ?by deleting the older ones directly from the camera?

and i never heard a card performing that way when it's damaged :S

it shouldn't work if it's damaged. right?

Well to delete photos, you can use camera controls itself or plug the camera to computer and delete from there...well for me also...the card sometimes used to format some time gave error...i tried many things but I was not able to recover the card...so bought a new card...

Why not transfer/copy the photographs from the camera to your PC using the cable? Over the years, I have never used a memory card reader.

Well I'm telling you what happened to me...I was not able to use that card...if you succeed in reviving the card then post here....

try formatting the card on your friends pc. i had similar issue with my cells 2gb mmc n also pen drive. In 4gb of pen drive it made files of 145gb n on my mmc 99gb. But my system also got infected so my friends pc came as a rescue.
