Hey is Seagate® Barracuda® 3.5" Internal Kit 5900 RPM 2TB drive worth a buy over the WB Green???
Link: 3.5 Inch SATA Hard Drives with Ultra ATA Software Technology | Seagate

Its much cheaper than the WD Green 2TB...
And many People are facing problems with the Greens...
I have been using a WD Black 1TB for almost a year, and a WD Green 1TB for over 3 months...
No problems yet...

WD Green Pros:
1) 7200RPM
2) 64 MB Cache

where as this Seagate drive is 5900RPM and 32MB cache...

Which one to go for???

Also whats the current warranty on both???

Thinking of getting one tomorrow itself...

Or should I go 1.5TB WD green???

Because I dont think WD Green reaches 7200RPM...

Dont get the 2TBs from any brand.

They have a Bad reputation like DOA's or not lasting very long.

Get 2x1TBs they will involve lesser headaches

not sure about 1.5TB's but i think i have seen users complaining about them as well.

1TB is a sure buy ATM.

i would suggest you to buy a Seagate 1TB 7200.12 which retails around 3.2k mark, you can get it around 3k by using 10% coupon on ebay.

it is a Complete VFM for the performance it offers.. :)

I got a couple of these 5900 rpm low power drives from DVDStoreDelhi last week. Link

Shall post the HD Tune/HD Tach benchmarks when I receive them - I couldn't risk my HD rips' collection ever since my netbook drive conked off. Decided to have a 1:1 backup plan henceforth.

^^ Great waiting for your benchmarks... 2Tb in single HDD would save a lot of space in my already cramped cabby....

LOL no need to wait...when we have a review from silentpcreview :D

Btw I also ordered one from dvdstoredelhi via his ebay store.

Ebay link for the 2TB ( People with Vodafone coupon can get it for less than 4900 shipped :D)

Seagate LP 5900rpm FTW! :D

I never knew about this drive when I decided to browse by Delta peripheral's price list and spotted a 2TB drive retailing for a good 1k less than the WD 20EARS! :O

Did not look any further and I can see that those benchmarks have paid off! Serves WD right for losing customers thanks to their ridiculous delays in the RMAs! :@

Hey got it for Rs.5500 from Primeabgb a week back...

Awesome drive, copy paste of seagate to/from WD Green 88MB/s [Teracopy showed this...]

Awesome Awesome Awesome

The only problem is that if you try to access the seagate for 2 different tasks [both demanding morderately high HDD speed]

The Seagate goes Damm slow...

But for Rs.5k range, best brive to go for as a storage drive...
