Believe me Seagate is not worth the risk these days, You made an excellent choice IMO. I almost feel like throwing away my Seagate (Yea, Its RMA'd ).

Seagate has always worked fine for me, in the past 6 years I only had to RMA one drive.

But recently seagate did screw up with the 7200.11 firmware's.

Well it doesnt matter how long someone's using, When you lose 500 GB data, it stings. So I am totally over Seagate even if they give me drive for free. Because Data is more important in some cases. ;)

Anyways next drive that i buy, Its going to WD or Hitachi.

Sorry for OT

i owned 3seagates drives till date n never had to rma any...
one of the drives is around 1yr old n other two are more than 3rys old (sold)..bt all workin fine..

while 4 out of 5 WD drives i(frnds drives n my drives) owned so far had to go for replacement widin 1st 2-6 months of purchase..
its just a matter of personal experience...
