Hello peeps!....So I've a seagate 1tb 7200.12 drive (slave), and I use it to store games..

But the problem is whenever the hard disk is being accessed, it makes some squealing noise...And this also occurs when I run a seek test in HDtune

This noise is killing me!
 
To be frank, the noise is not very clear in that link. Are you having the st31000528as model ?. If you are very sure that the noise is due to your hdd, then its better to backup your data asap and RMA it as noise is not a sign of good HDD health . The 528as has a hell a lot of issues. The 528as is replaced by the recent 524as. There are no complaints or issues as far as i know, but will have to wait for sometime for some more reviews as this one is launched only a couple of months back...
