Hi guys, i got a Seagate 250 GB sata internal hdd which has crashed, it was working yesterday afternoon but in the evening when i started my computer, it took long time to boot, also small low freq beeps were heard (not from mobo speaker but from seagate hdd) after windows loaded i found that my seagate 250 gb hdd not detected, i used lot of option in windows , hdtune etc but all in vain.

when i restarted system, entered boot menu, seagate 250 gb not detected at all....

I have 4 Internal hard disks, 1TB*3 WD Blues while 1*250gb seagate, i tested all sata ports, cables all work fine All WD hdd work fine, also none of them ever had any issues in past 2 yrs.

Seagate is still under warranty, but since i never RMAed a Seagate hdd can anyone help me with RMA process for Seagate, I stay in NAVI MUMBAI.

Thanks.

Have you tried this HDD in a external case? or tried starting the pc with just this hdd and the one which has the os?

I'm asking this because i had a similar problem in my pc which turned out to be a smps problem.....lack of power the hdd's :P

Sorry for Hijacking,

Thanks for info on your Power supply issue, You have just gave me some ground as to Judge my SMPS as culprit rather than the HDD's. 2 of my HDD's stopped working within a week one after another... I too wish it's a SMPS problem... :) Will get a new Corsair VX450 this weekend and Check... Hope i have not lost all the Goodies in the drives.
