Ok heres what happened, it was a routine powercut then routine shutdown, then power came back and when I tried booting up the system it froze at POST screen and a minute later it printed the dreaded letters "BOOT DISK FAILURE ,Please insert a disc and try again".I tried booting the system many times and nothing happend .So finally I reinstalled windows on a second hdd and booted up but the partitions of 500gb hdd weren't visible and it wasn't there in Device manger or discmangement either . I checked again in bios and only one hdd was getting detected. So I figured out its time to knock the doors of Seagate RMA center as its still under warranty.Tell me is there any way to resuscitate the HDD and recover data from it :ashamed: or its practically dead and i can only mourn for my data  .

^... If you can find same model from your friend then you can swap the PCB board of your dead HDD & then try if it gets detected in BIOS....

^.. Lolz... He does not have to advertise it.. A HDD's PCB can be taken out & put back without service people knowing... Its only a matter of removing few screws...

^^really?....didnt know that it was so easy :) in that case it's worth a shot, provided u have a friend who's ready to lend his working HDD's PCB
