just took out my seagate 500GB that i will put in my upcoming rig.
It was RMAed in Jan and hardly used for a few hours.
When i installed it today it started making a little weird noise. not much but i heard something.
I ran HDTune and this is what i got:
error scan shows no errors, all green blocks. benchmark looks okay.
the SMART status says ok but there are some read errors that keep on increasing.
RAW read error rate / Hardware ECC recovered rate and Seek error rate keep on increasing!
Air flow temperature is also going berserk.
I think there is something wrong with it. It is under warranty till december 2013.
Should i take it to accel frontline, will they RMA it or return saying that drive is okay.
I have a very lean and stripped out Win XP so cant install seatools.
What should i do.
