Hi,
I am facing fraud problem with no idea what to do next.

I had purchase Seagate 500GB Sata Harddisk from "Cost to Cost", Nehru Place, Delhi Invoice No "D-RI/4766" on 4Dec2008. HDD had 5 years warranty.

I verified online Warranty Validation and product was in warranty till 10-Sep-2013
Model No : ST3500320AS /9BX154-303
Serial : 5QM2TZSH
Country : India

My Harddisk got faulty and raised RMA at seagate website and it clearly showed it to be under warranty. I packed HDD and send it to their Chennai office for replacement.

To my surprise I get email saying that HDD is not under warranty as it "NOT VALID INDIA DRIVE". So I have been asked to make my own courier arrangement to collect these drives from my pocket within 30day.

Kindly advise what should be next step and who is doing cheating either C2C or seagate
 
these are OEM HDD's, same thing happened with me, i had brought a 200GB SEAGATE HDD with external casing from CAPE TOWN, when checked the SR Number it showed under warranty, but when the time came to send it to RMA in INDIA, it was returned to me saying the same thing & with an additional advice to get it replaced with the same dealer i had brought.

guess you speak with the dealer you brought it from or wait till what the other members advice here.
 
its not OEM ,OEM drives have OEM part No on it,ie DP NO: (dell part no), HP part no (with Replace with HP spare no)etc. i think this is a grey market product, many dealers are selling these parallel imported drives in India, ONLY VALID imported drives by Seagate Authorised Importers's serial number is validated in India by Seagate RMA centers, so on this option you can only contact at ur brought dealer to get warranty via him and not via SEAGATE India RMA.

talk to cost to cost ,otherwise there is no option as mine also bought from nehru place but after checking it was showing valid till 2013 but when i tried to RMA it ,seagate says its from CANADA,so they suggest to talk to shop from where u bought
 
As you hold a valid Tax Paid Invoice, go to C2C and ask him for a replacement after telling him that RMA was rejected by Seagate.

If he doesn't agree, threaten him with legal action. As he is selling illegal imports with a bill, he'll obviously agree to replacing the drive rather than getting into legal hassles.
