Hi guys,

My 500gb freeagent go is in warranty

But there is 1 bad sector in it and sometimes it makes scratching noises.

Can someone please tell me if this is enough to RMA the drive ?

and which seatools test should be performed for accurate results ?

PS: i have never RMA'd anything before :(

1 bad sector is not a problem. However the scratching noises point to some mechanical issues - these cannot be diagnosed by any tests unfortunately.
 
They dont check if its badsector or any sound they will simply handover you a replacement drive.
I just gave my hard drive for replacement coz its warranty was about to expire but no special or severe reasons pertaining to sector/noise and temps.

So go ahead with your rma.
 
Registered a call, but it said i have to bring it to the service center .... with my call id :([DOUBLEPOST=1418450239][/DOUBLEPOST]Okay called them, pickup initiated.

Lets hope this goes well. They did not ask about the bill, am i suppose to attach it or not ?
