Ohk I think I have spent ample time with the new PSU that I had bought over a month ago without much reviews and look outs just guided by the name of SEASONIC and the sweet price that the PSU was offered to me by MD Computers Kolkata . Well people here at TE and other forums tend to dismiss this PSU but I assure you its one of the BEST of the BESTS. The 80mm back fan makes the potential buyers sway away from this model to some other corsair or so brands but this is a super quite PSU which is running great on a Over-clocked RIG consisting of i5 2500 @ 4.8Ghz and HD5870 and by far I have physically touched the PSU when the system is benchmarking and till now never faced and kind of high temperatures on it . On loads even the PSU stands steady . Well in 5.5k the price is awesome for someone building a new rig and opting for the mid ranged trustful PSU . And people say there have been no reviews on this PSU well after some research I digged one out for all the ones looking for a PSU in 5k range .

Well this is also named a PC Power And Cooling Silencer 750w. Well the others in this range will be VX550 , GX750 , 700GS , 650TX and HX650 if you go over budget by 1k. Well I would suggest either this SS750-JS or HX650 . But I would say only go by this model if you have a good service to backup its a electronic good after all and it can also go bad so look out for A.S.S before making the move but this should not be a problem in kolkata .

Firstly, it's only noobs who will prefer corsair over seasonic. Secondly, your rig will probably pull 350 to max 400 watts with everything oc'ed. So you still have a lot of head room and I don't think you will need an upgrade even if you add another gpu.

Mav is right. You completely overshot it. Even a VX450 wouldn't break a sweat powering your current rig.

Guys firstly VX550 is just 1k lesser than this . And Corsair no doubt a good brand but the OEM manufacturer is Seasonic[not always but most of the times] and Corsair is costlier and I dont pay up to be a fanboy . And about upgrade well am not looking for a PSU Upgrade am just giving out a word to people who are looking for a PSU in 5-5.5k that this is a good one and BTW headroom doesnt hurt does it ? And am running a HD5870 that belongs to my friend dont spam unnecessarily .

No need to get upset, mav2000 is saying the same thing as you :P

Nobody says the PSU is bad, but as the review says performance is not that great either.

Personally I'm a bit confused by the idea of a 750W budget PSU.

Once you hit 750W you can get better options, and encouraging someone building a high-power rig to use a budget PSU is not the right approach.

Likewise, if someone has a small budget and needs a smaller capacity PSU, I don't think recommending a 750W PSU because it has more watts is the right approach either ;)

Yes it should.

But as mentioned earlier, getting a rig that consumes 750W and cutting down on your PSU budget is not an ideal approach.

sorry i misunderstood it :P LOL my mistake i will put up my review again .. well i am just saying that guys who are buying VX550 or any other PSU in this 5k range have got an option on it . The review says its moderate and all that but the head room on this over the 550w puts lesser load on the PSU :) . Well you are right on the more watts approach but as i was and am still planning on a high end card hence was this buy . Proved good so i thought i might be able to help others . But 200w headroom for 1k is not bad either thats my point but rest is upto the buyer:) .

theoretically speaking even a GTX580 SLI with i7 920 OCed wont need a 750W :P
