Second hand LCD monitor buying checklist.

Well if I buy a second hand LG LCD monitor from someone not personally known to me, what should be the things that I should be looking at before deciding whether to go ahead with the deal or not?

Here are afew things that I could could come up with:

1. The original bill and warranty card(seller claims it is under warranty period). Is there any way to verify that these docs are genuine?

2. Physically checking to see that the stickers on the monitor which void the warranty if removed are intact and also checking the physical condition of the unit for scratches etc including the condition of the connecting wires and connectors.

3. Turning the monitor on and checking for dead pixels(are these seen as black spots on the display?) and leaving it on for an hour to see if there is any fading of display colors or vibration.

4. Checking to see if the monitor is unusually hot after running for 1 hour.

Apart from these, is there something else to be considered? Is there any software that can be used to test the condition of the display etc?

Please share your knowledge.
