seedbox,ftp...totally confused!

well my bro saw some add on net and came to know that if he gets a seedbox then his torrent speeds will increase a lot...well he bought a seedbox from a site...
now those guys have mailed him a
ftp server address
utorrent server address
he is able to log in both the links.now the fun starts :ohyeah:
in the utorrent server address after login its showing as utorrent webui and when he is opening a torrent in that the download is like 4-7kb (he got a 512kb line) plus download stops in 1 or 2 mins and shows error
in the ftp server address when he is loggin its showing as
index of ...such and such (server name)and below that name size last modified and one more thing up to high level directory

so now my questions is...to the whiz guru's here...where are we going wrong...he already has utorrent installed in his pc so can he uses this thing that he got somehow in the utorrent already installed or he has to download using the link that open utorrent webui
what is this ftp server address??? what is the use of it
and how can he improve his torrent speeds because i was googling and everyone is saying it improves speed but how to do it...where are we doing wrong...
he got xp professional installed *ahem* version
so please help us guys..and while replying keep in mind we are total noobs in this :S
 
A seedbox is not a magical device to increase torrent speeds . You cannot increase torrent speeds beyond what your connection is capable of

A seedbox is a dedicated server (connected to a 100mb/s line) , it is used to upload very quickly to private trackers to have a better ratio(and more upload)

You can FTP into the server and download these files

You must understand , the seedbox has nothing to do with what is being downloaded in his computer

In a 512 kbps line you should get atleast 55kBps download speed , what do you get ?

Also where did you buy the seedbox from ?

he got it from lease torrent ...its mentioned in their site plus he had googled it that download speeds increase...so he bought from utorrent plan...but how to use it now???? yea he get around 55-60 speed but sometimes if the torrent is really well seeded he has got around 90-100kb speed i have seen myself...
right now how to use the sites and username and password that he has....how to use it...let me know please...

@manu1991's..bro i have been googling for last one hour with him and yea already saw those sites...right now my question is what to do with what we have now with us...how to use it???
i have mailed their customer care also but they are slow to reply so thought why not bother you guys in the meantime with my noobish questions:ashamed:
 
ok lets get serious..you need to login into utorrent web interface and queue your torrents there and not into your home pc utorrent.

i.e. you have two utorrents one on your pc and other on the server you bought.

you can use ftp to download files from the seedbox to your pc...and utorrent web gui to download files through torrent to your seedbox.

Okay , first you have to use it on private trackers only , its useless on public trackers

it wont affect his speeds but will allow him to have a nice buffer on private trackers

Is he a member on any private tracker ? private trackers are those where you have to register to download . if he isnt register at one like gamato.info which is open for signups , then find a torrent with large number of leeches , download it and add on utorrent (of the seedbox) , hopefully you will have a large upload on it . Similarly you build a nice upload and later download from the tracker

Its simple actually , private trackers keep a tab of how much you download and upload . you need to upload as much as you download , this will help in uploading easily and swiftly

Although leasetorrents packages are crap , for that price you can get much better seedboxes

well when i am using the utorrent web gui and starting a download there..the speed shows 5-7kbs and within 5 mins its shows error written right beside the torrent..and yea it the same with any torrent i tried using there...

in case you using sites for exclusive HD content..in most cases you have to notify mods there that you are using seedbox

nope he is not a member of any private tracker thing...
but the torrent stop downloading in that web gui interface plus for the few mins its downloading the speed is just 5-7 kbps...
well he was trying with normal torrents on which he was getting around 55kbp on the utorrent he had already installed
thirdly yaar i never heard of all these lease torrents etc dont know he did it himself for which already he has got a good dose from me :chair:
what are good seedboxes???
 
1)through ftp client you will download files from seedbox( which you downloaded via utorrent on seedbox) to your computer .

2)through utorrent gui interface you will download files through tracker to your seedbox

3) about the error now ..how many torrents have you queued on the seedbox and whats the hard disk capacity you bought..in case you exceeded that limit this error can happen...log in into the server..they must have given you login info..and delete the files if you have crossed your limit...

4) limit download limit to say 1000 kbps to test things ..sometime hgher download speeds make things crash...

i will need info what download and upload limits you have been promised...

he was downloading from a open torrent in pirate bay...casino royale hd...so anyone to inform there ???
the same thing he was downloading in his utorrent already thats installed with speed of 55-60 and here in this leasetorrent web gui the download is getting disconnected within few minutes and the speed during that time is just 5-6kb also
 
do not use on public trackers no use at all..also what are the settings you are using in utorrent webgui interface..

settings you need to set are download speed , uplaod speed ..and most important preallocate file size on disk...never exceed the total file sizes more than the capacity you bought on server things will crash..

if you are using beta version of utorrent..use a stable release...

well he just logged in that webgui thing and started one download from pirate bay a hd of casino royale..that is the only thing added in the web gui thing

i checked their site..well it does not seem to be a good seedbox server...

and about the speed limit they say"Unlimited Download & Upload Speed"

thats fishy..good seebox servers specify exact speed they provide...

in your case i will suggest use a torrent preferably new (from private tracker you like) ..with highest number of leechers..you will use 200 gb in no time..go for a popular new game release..or Pron:-)..and in a week you will use your quota of 200 gbs..in future do not buy from that site..

in future ask members in forum here which seedbox to buy...some members even have seedbox here and they share them..for nominal no profit no loss price..
 
well yaar how to stop teenagers from this nonsense...locked his paypal account now...
i tried now with ilovetorrents thing..that a private tracker my bro told me and said he gets good speed from there..again in the web gui thing the torrent stopped downloading

but how to download that also...its just stopping within 2-3 mins with that error thing written beside the torrent

i surely will ask members..i am not into all this and this idiot is having holidays so finding ways to spend money online...

so right now what to do...is it a lost cause because the download is just stopping withing 5mins...
 
well about paypal account..sorry mate ..but thats not unusual...and not for the first time to me..anyways...

1) telll me if you can log into server to check if you can delete files from seedbox...sometimes removing from utorrent is not sufficient enough..

remove the torrent and delete the files from server...now queue them again..and see what happens..

if you cannot login into server ask the service provider if deleting files from utorrent client deletes files form server..

also lodge a complain about this to their CC
 
dude you are new here (looking at the number of posts)..get in touch with a member you trust..and sort things out..coz to resolve the issues one needs to know utorrent settings( login into client) on server...and the agreement letter you have agreed to or the one they mailed you..it might have things regarding you can do or might not do in utorrent settings...
