Seeking advice on how to increase typing speed

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well.

I type at a speed of around 45-50 WPM without looking at the keyboard (60 WPM on a good day). This further increases by ~10 WPM if I'm looking at the keyborad, I guess the increase in speed when I'm looking at the keyborard is due to increased accuracy. I'm stuck at this speed for as long as I can remember. Earlier I needed to look at the keyboard more often as compared to now, that's the only improvement I noticed in my typing over the years.

I want to improve my speed to atleast 80 WPM. I have started practicing on keybr since 2-3 days. Please suggest me ways to improve my typing speed and accuracy / your personal experience / pitfalls etc.

TIA.

Type slowly for a few months while practicing and try to focus on accuracy only. You will see a change after a few months of practice.

Get into arguments on social media. :troll:
Not too far off actually lol. I remember getting into arguments or trash talking on online videogames. More often than not it needed you to type fast before the other person could reply back lmao.

But for OP I suggest two websites.

Monkeytype is a great practicing website imo and just a fun passtime. If you adjust the settings with punctuation/quotes and other stuff like that wherein you make the typing more realistic akin to what you would type in a real situation, it greatly helped me out.

Typeracer (which I just did right now ranging between 85wpm to 110wpm, again depending on how easy the lines are lol) is another great option to compete with other people online and race them.

But honestly speaking, if you're talking about a 60wpm while actually typing out something productive, that is still very good, 80wpm using these websites is not a very realistic speed to maintain as it's just merely copying and typing out words on screen. I'm at best 80wpm realistically speaking.
