Hi i just ordered brand new 1 TB from Prime ABGB and they gave the lowest quote 3925 :-) really good 7200.12 series. WD is out of stock eveywhere hence got this .. i guess the new .12 has no failure rate till now and hdtach score is also around 100mb/sec . hence opted for that :-) :hap2:

Bought the same HDD couple days back.....good performance so far.btw, got mine for 4.2k.Awesome rate u got there. :D

True !! WD is good but .12 are really good ones by segate .. i havent heard from anyone who have faced problem...with it.. But .. being frank i would have bought WD if the stock was there...i ahve always used WD and never got any failed hdd at all . WD 1 TB Green EADS 32 MB Cache one are available for 4250 .. will be in stock in couple of days..

I got a WD 1 TB for 4250 from my local dealer on Saturday. The Seagate 1TB was available for 4000 but I opted for the WD since this will be just a data dump in my 24/7 HTPC/Server so my priority was silence, running cool and longevity.

^.. 7200.12 does run silent & cool... As for longevity it depends on personal experiences for this series....

1TB 7200.12 avg temp is ~36C on both my HDD's....

On topic... now 500GB 7200.12 looks pretty expensive & desperately needs further price...

i had also called today but minal mam told the consignment had arrived yest but as shop was closed they didnt recieved it .. :( she told may be tomorrow they will recieve...i am a bit skeptical in getting segate hdds after all those .11 issues :|

btw nice rates anks

The Seagate 1 TB was for 3900+tax when i checked like three to four weeks back here in bangalore, price might have fallen further even

.11 series also gave me mental trauma....
so whatever there product is good or bad I shall never opt for Seagate again. If one can give a faulty device once they can do it again, I can never trust Seagate in my entire life.
