Hi
I really need some input on this.
I need to send some 500Gms worth of medicines to USA.
can you guys please suggest a best way to do that?
Will the medicines reach USA without any problems if i send by indian speed post ?
How much will it cost me ? i already have the doctors prescription would i need anything more than that?
IF not speed post is there any other courrier service that i can user inorder to send the medicines?

Thanks,
UG

It wont reach the address. If you declare it as medicines, you need to have some clearance papers. Don't know if there is any min cutoff or exceptions etc. More knowledgeable people will tell.

A friend had to have some inhalers send from India to New Jersey. No idea about the courier either. It never reached him. He had to go some places, get something attested or something for him to receive it.

Oh thanks for the reply jeri, my local medicine guy told me to contact a guy and he said that the whole thing will be done for 1250rs and that the medicine parcel will reach USA with 3 or 4 days

You'll need to get NOC from the concerned Port Officer of Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (http://cdsco.nic.in/) at your zone for export of any medicine. Without that Customs will not allow the export.
As with any govt. office you'll need a lot of paper work. So, it'll be easier to get help from some agent as told to you.
But even you manage to get NOC your medicines may not get released in the destination country as import/export of medicines are governed by strict laws.

You may PM me for additional help.
