Alright, first of all set your 'Audio channel' option to 6 channel in the xonar audio center, like in pic. 1

Then on the back of your control pod there is a small switch at one end, make sure it selects 6 ch direct.

Now use the remote to select 'direct' then press 'effect' till the screen says 6 Ch Direct.

Turn the volume of all speakers to your comfort level and press the test button. If you hear pink noise from all speakers including sub then it is set right. After that use the 3D demo on the xonar panel on your screen to check the surround sound. If you do all this right and the speakers are defect free, I guess you are good to go. Just make sure you are playing a 5.1 encoded audio file.

Prologic II music and Prologic II Movie will not output sound from all the speakers, what they do is, take the stereo (2 channel) sound and artificially simulate the surround effect with only the front 2 speakers.

Cheers.

For a change, use the digital audio out on the card using the supplied 3.5mm to toslink adapter and buy a good toslink male to male cable. See if this output is better than being driven by the DAC onboard the DX.

From the Pic 1 When i test the audio, I only here the right and Left speaker sound but nothing else, thatz when my 13K project steamed up all heat, Ever since that i am keeping my ears on all speakers the sound on all speakers right.

Xonar detects only left and right of front nothing else.

As I use Xonar DX with Logitech X-540.......I think there is no problem with your Z5500.

In Xonar DX:-

Please Turn Up :-

1.GX3D DSP Button On (from 1st & 4th pic I see it off)

2.Music DSP Button - Turn It off (I didn't find it anything to do good at all)

3.Go to Effect - Turn Eq on to default (if your don't know what setting u need)

4.In the Effect window - Choose Reverb Environments Choose More--->Room (Drop Down) --->Small/Large/Medium (Radio Button)

If Still don't you get sound in the rear box ---> Go to the Mixer ---> Up the Volume Slider of the Rear Speaker.

Hope This works....Mine is SVN Turn Off. and Main Volume is 50% delivering blasting sound. Though my box is small.
