Microsoft has tied up with Seventymm – a leading name in the movie rentals category for the unique rent-a-game Service – a first of its kind initiative which will enable gamers to rent “on demand” the latest Xbox 360 games for a fixed number of days.

Got to be old news for some of you. Has anyone rented games from seventymm or elsewhere.

Man, they have a wide variety of games for rent.

No. You're just throwing all your 20k away if you void X360's warranty for a modded version of it to run burnt dvd's. You just rent 'em, play and give it back.

And really glad at M$ taking their console business seriously in India, this is the first time I'm seeing this after Sega with Dreamcast, and very disappointed in Sony not doing much at all, given the power the brand Playstation packs in this country.

1. I am an existing member. Do I still need to register?

This is a beta launch of Seventymm – X-Box Game Rental Service. Currently all members, including existing Seventymm members need to register to avail this service. Once you complete the online registration form, our sales team will contact you to collect the payment and activate your account.

2. How do I order for games?

Browse the site for the games of your choice and place the order. You may order through the online request form or you may call up our customer support to place the order. You may also send an email to gamesupport@seventymm.com with the details of your order.

3. Can I play these games on a PC or laptop?

Members must have an X-Box console to play these games. If you wish to buy an X-Box console, please contact us at gamesupport@seventymm.com

4. How are the games delivered?

We have a sophisticated logistics solution in place to ensure that all DVDs are delivered within one business day (from 8 am to 10 pm) from the time you place your order. However, the actual delivery time of the DVD can vary.

5. Do I have to pay for every game I take on rent?

The payment is pay per view. The delivery person will deliver the game DVD on the payment of the subscription fee.

6. How do I give back the game DVD?

Please call our customer support to schedule a pickup of your DVD.

7. Is there any late fee?

The subscription fee is applicable for 4 days and 3 nights. If there is a delay in returning the game DVD, it will be considered as a fresh subscripton of 4 days and 3 nights.

ooo very nice... but that would mean i`d have to sit and play a game for 3 whole days.. cannot do that cause of work constraints. not like i have xbox 360 .. but still.. :P

yep a week is actually the perfect period for renting out games :D
 
This is excellent news! More great work being done by MS to rpomote gaming in India.

Renting is general is a good idea for games that offer only around 10 hours worth of gameplay and offer no real replay value in the form of multiplayer, unlockables etc.etc. Great find, vij!
 
Makes more sense buy an Xbox 360 instead of a PS3 heh :)

Also i agree with Vij... 199 for a week sounds much better... lets the service roll... If its good then i might pickup a new 360 basic edition :)

Called them up. They offered 1 month free service and asked me to subscribe if I am happy. Also promised me that service in Hyd and Bangalore are top notch.

Btw, xbox 360 games are available all over India.

Il go for their free first month service and take it from there.

even more disgusting that noone cares for those comments on their site. No replies from their admin or staff there.

Seventymm had major service issues in the past... I live in Bangalore and got an offer through my company, so there were upfront reg fees. It only took me 2 months to realize these guys are on crack. This was in 05 or 06, I haven't heard about them in recent times.

In short, seventymm is just a horrible ripoff of netflix, for those who have used netflix in the US.
