So this is the first time i had given IBPS exam, and got selected for interview which might start from Jan 2015.

Needed some tips for how to appear/ how to present / tell lies or not / what to wear / what all to prepare

share tips from your past experience, and its related to banking, would be a plus point for me :) :)

* Appeared for IDBI interview for PO via manipal course in Sep, it went fine until they asked what are you doing past 1 year, where i have to tell i am pursuing Mtech, and they said thanks for coming and kicked me off :( :(

* If i get allocation in some nice bank, will throw a grand party for all guyz here in Mumbai/Pune :P

Well a bhikari with several businesses i.e. food chains, clothes showroom etc.??? Anybody would love to be such a bhikari then. :hilarious:

First do a homework about the bank your are gonna i' viewed for. Talk all praise for the bank as to why you wanna join just them ?? This is common question any co. asks to the candidate. I assume you are good in accounts and current affairs related to financial economies so be prepared for any such related shootouts. And if not then rip bank career and lookout elsewhere.

Well afaik, Bank interviews are all about general knowledge tests! 80% of the questions are related to current affairs and certain economic rates.

When asked, about what you do - Do not ever reveal that you are studying! You could say, you are working as a free lancer, trolling forums here and there. Or, for a change, say that you are handling the accounts for your family business. Or reveal that you have just completed studying a value added course, etc etc.

Regarding the interview - Be confident, be prepared and converse with the Interviewer, rather than just playing a question and answers round. Praise the bank and what makes it the best one among the rest. Also do show your gratitude to be chosen for the same.

Basically, be true about the world, and be true to them about, what they want you to be true at. ;)

Lol. You are first suggesting op to lie and then asking op to be true about everything in the end? :banghead: :p
You are confusing the op.

Bank written exam as well as interview are full of asking general awareness question and also questions of bank history to which you are giving interview.

Like others say, learn about the bank.
Keeping up with current events is good, but having an analysis/viewpoint is even better.
Try to have answers or important points prepared for personal questions such as :-
-what is your biggest flaw?
-how can you contribute to this organization or how can working here help you achieve your life goals.
-where do you see yourself in x years?
-why do you want to work here? This is the most common/likely question to be asked. most people answer with "i want a challenging environment where i can fully utilize my skills and grow professionally within the organization" -this is a somewhat generic answer so try something different if possible.
All the best!
