I think the railway budget was actually more spread out than confined to certain states. Apart from that, IDK.
As for the general budget, i think its a good start.

Mobile phones will be cheaper and so will be the computers in India. This will be for products that will be manufactured in India. But, the government decides to put 10% basic customs duties on telecom products, to discourage imports. Since India is a major market for telecom products like phones and tablets that are mostly imported, be it iPhones, Nexus handsets or cheap phones from the Indian smartphone companies. This could result in increased prices of imported telecom goods, including phones and tablets. The government is yet to explain if this is going to impact the smartphone market.

Only a miser? I remember him chiding (pun intended) middle class to be able to eat 20rs icecream and crying about price rise or something. He was an idiot and needed to removed NDA or not.Atleast Jaitley was at ease enough to increase rate by 50k.
Chidu on contrary was such miser that even last year increasing limit by 20k was crying and showing figure that country will be at big loss.ANd how big miser he was once a person income goes pass 5L the 2.2L limit goes to 2L.
Thats true. I was hoping for standard deduction for Salaried individuals to be introduced finally, and for the travel allowance deduction to be increased in view of the increased cost of travellingThese finance ministers are all still stuck in that "in the old years so and so cost only so much paisa" age. They're too old to give anything substantial to the government or people. Their way of thinking is old.
What's the use of increase in tax slab when it won't help people much? Look at the inflation. They should have gone all the way and given income tax exemption till 3lacs at least. What's the use of 1 or 1.5lac saving under 80c or CC or any other alphabet if it does not put money in the hands of the people directly to spend?
All these sections only lock off money for years. No use to a person reeling under budget constraints at home.
Only people having extra money in their pockets will spend. :|
The BCD for mobile phones has been set to 10%, add to it CVD and SAD, it will surely touch ~~20% if coming via mumbai , and 20-25% if coming via Delhi, don't know whether the price in gray market will increase or not.
Regarding tax exemption limit, they just introduced it to make the common man happy, so that on one starts raising voice against them.,
They didn't introduced any good package for automobile sector, IT industry, how they will be going to produce more jobs in coming days.
Also in order to make all people of nation happy they had done, ramu to 10 rupee lele dhoodh peelena, shaam tu 15 rupee lele samosa khalena, baki log phile jise kharae the waise hich khao[DOUBLEPOST=1405005145][/DOUBLEPOST]Further, there will be no import duty on PC components, which could lower prices of assembled PC setups, as well as branded PCs.
On the flip side, looks like the government also plans to discourage imports as 10 percent customs duties is now levied on all incoming telecom products.
Does it means that, there will be no import duty on PC components ? ?
